This gathering was supposed to be a blast, but it did not turn out that way

Bingham Canyon, Utah

People are gathered in the visitors' center at the Bingham Canyon mine, waiting
to see a blasting operation in the pit. Everyone was herded into the center as
a safety precaution, meaning that observation of the blast was difficult. The
blast was postponed, so Gary (red cap) and I left. (But our trip was a blast!)

Looks more like the last row at a rock concert.

Steve, I am grateful for moral support such as yours. NOT.

Lee, the thought of Dave handling explosives is sobering. I'm glad he left with a whimper and not a bang.

So disappointment filled the room.
They'd hoped to see something get blowed up real good.

almost as exciting as a fire sale...

The only explosion I witnessed was the downward creep of gas prices during the trip.
No cherry bombs, fire crackers, or dynamite tossed, hurled, thrown, pitched, lobbed, or dropped (or ignited).

I hope you tossed a cherry bomb into the pit as you drove off.
