This gallery started out as a celebration of the memory of Main Place, a building in
Bellevue, Washington that was destroyed by fire in December, 2001. It was later torn
down. The building was located on the south side of Main Street, about a block west
of Bellevue Way. It housed Masin's Furniture and a few other businesses, including
The Mane Tamer, a hair salon that I patronized when I worked in Bellevue.
Never again can I drive a convoluted route through parking lots behind the building, walk up
the noisy wooden stairs to the third floor, or gaze out upon the commercial neighborhood to the
south from the salon's bank of windows. Scott Lee, hair stylist supreme, where are you now?
In early 2007 the space was occupied by a new building containing apartments and businesses.
