I did a quickie birding yesterday at the vast fishponds of Sto. Tomas, La Union (near Agoo town) to try the Uniqball UBH45 at BIFs. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a whimbrel-like bird flew
into my field of view in an erratic, flip-flopping manner, all the time giving a loud call while in the air. "That could be a curlew with its very long bill," I thought to myself. I managed to grab
a few documentary frames, including a blurry one showing its whitish underwing (this feature together with the white rump convinced me later during post processing that it's a Eurasian).

Not sure if this is a new record for my home province, but it sure made the sortie interesting.
