40D gets close to a Mangrove Blue Flycatcher

I finally got close to a Mangrove Blue Flycatcher (a male), in a quick birding sortie at Anvaya Cove, Morong, Bataan. This bird prefers to stay at the dark understory
of disturbed forest or early second growth, and I had to use super slow shutter speeds to expose properly its amazing colors in available low light.
Most of the shots were autofocused, but I used the 40D's Live View to confirm fine focus and exposure in the dark scene.

Mangrove Blue Flycatcher

Scientific name - Cyornis rufigastra blythi (endemic race)

Habitat - Disturbed forest, early second growth and in the lowlands.

Habitat: Coastal areas to open country, but seldom in forest

Scientific name - Lanius schach

Habitat - Open country and scrub.

There you go again. Whoa! Fantastic! Is it the new body, the great lens, the subject, the skill? It is the one who holds the camera, whatever model, who delivers the good photo. Pero, I'd have the 40D in target... meanwhile, I need to learn from the Master.
