Just had to evict a mom and dad from my front door wreath. I moved the nest and took down the wreath before they could lay any eggs. The pair just sat on a nearby tree and tweeted angrily at me. The neighbors probably think I'm crazy because I was out front explaining to the birds why my front door is not a suitable place for a nest. Too noisy. I have little boys. Something would inevitably go wrong.

I have them in Upperco, MD. I thought they were finches.

There are several at my feeders in Randallstown. I have two Brome feeders, one contains a Fruit and Nut Blend and the other contains a Select Blend Wild Bird Food.

Thanks for your site! I wasn't sure what these little beauties coming to my feeder were. Thought they might be purple finches. Now I know. Marissa, Parkville, MD

Thank you, we were able to
identify the birds nesting under our porch. Their first nest under our deck near a robin nest has been abandoned for the quieter spot. We are in Cove Point.

Thanks so much for helping me identify these little guys. I have had three families of them on my front porch. They build their nest on top of the light. we had four little eggs hatch last year. This year we lost the first nest, so we put a check book box on top of the light with the nest that fell down, we now have our second family in there with four more eggs, in April (late) who had 5 eggs I was surprised they all hatched and flew away. The recent ones have just hatched. It is so neat to watch the grow and fly away.

Thank you for the identifying image. This morning I spotted two beautiful pair in our Catonsville neighbor's holly tree. They're very playful and not at all bashful.

Thanks for identifying. A House Finch appeared on our deck today. It is the first I recall seeing one here. We are well visited by a pair of cardinals, who regularly appear to capture the crumbs from the cookies we give our Bernese.

Thanks for identifying this bird for me. Two of them built a nest in my fern on my balcony last year. I was excited to see them return this year!

A great big thanks for the picture and the name. I first noticed this bird at my house in Gaithersburg 6 years ago peering into my palladian window. It has appeared every year since then and had no clue as to what it was. Extremely nice voice and not shy about appearing in front of people or our dogs when it wants to drink from our planter or eat my strawberries on our deck.

Thanks for helping me name this bird that has appeared on my front porch lately. He likes to perch on my plant basket while his "wife" prepares the nest above my porch light fixture. He has the prettiest voice!

Thanks for naming the red headed bird for me, we have a finch bird feeder, and this bird keeps coming to feed with the yellow finches, we were not sure what it was, until now. Also the female came, which was totally brown. Thanks for helping us, to identify the birds.
