Have one visiting in Monkton, MD. Definitely not a Blue bird....all intense blue, no rose color on the chest.

Yeah if you want to see any of those birds you better have the feeders ready cause they don't stick around very long.

I think this is the little bird at the feeder at my Higganum CT home ....about the size of a finch correct?! Beautiful funny not one though

is a blue grosbeak similar...it's not the same bird, right? very cool! i'm thinking years ago when i thought i saw an indigo bunting it may've been the blue grosbeak...

My husband keeps saying he use to see these small blue birds at work. We were not sure of the name of them, but this looks like the bird he seen. What type of bird house, food and flowers would we need to get these little birds at our home ? I love all your pictures, and yes I agree bird watching is great.

I love your galleries, and am finding them very helpful. We moved to St. Mary's County last year, and are seeing many new types of birds at our feeders now that it's spring. Sometimes it's hard to identify a species from a picture in a bird book.

We have a pair of indigo buntings coming to our feeders. I'd never seen one before in person, and it's hard not to sit at the window all the time! This week we also saw our first goldfinch- one of my favs.
