Thank you for comments. I am glad that you enjoyed my photo galleries. I am particualarly proud of the photos that I took at the Zah-Zu-Zay performance. Of all of the events that I have taken pictures at, this had the most highest percentage of keepers. It does help (quite a lot since I had picked up photography two months before) that this group placed 1st in the Team competition in the American Lindy Hop Championships in 2002 and in 2nd in 2003. They also ran through their two routines twice. I was quite fortunate that I decided to go test out my brand new flash that day, it ended up to be their last performance. Some of the members have moved on, but there are quite a few members that are still very active in the Seattle Swing community.
Please tell your father thank you for his and his generation's service in WWII and the culture of Swing Dance that my friends and I love and work to keep alive for generations to come.

Your photos are delightful! -- especially those along with Zah-Zu-Zay! I just stumbled across them on pbase and have been browsing through them for the last hour or so. I spent time last weekend at the new WWII Memorial in Washington, DC, and part of the celebration was a "GI's Canteen", complete with Benny Goodman (-like) band and lots of dancing. That included both young and old (i.e., WWII vets) doing the Lindy and jitterbug. Unfortunately, neither my dancing or my photos are nearly as good as yours. (I guess I'm sort of a "tweener" -- actually a boomer -- my dad served in WWII (and was a pretty good jitterbugger), and my son is about the age of the folks in most of your photos.) I'll have to look around now and see if there are some similar groups (other than my normal swing groupies) who specialize in lindy and jitterbug. Very cool pictures. You have captured so many wonderful moments. When I am old, I will be able to look at these photos and say "yeh, I could do that back in the day!"
