suffragettes holding flowers...

Seneca Falls, New York

After moving to Seneca Falls approximately 5 years ago, I embraced the town,
its architecture, the Seneca-Cayuga Canal and the Women's Rights history.
After 2 years, I had taken hundred's of photographs.... and thought there
would not be one more photograph I could possibly take. I drove past the
statue one day in early spring and needless to say there was ONE more photograph
I had to take. Someone had left a bouquet of flowers in Elizabeth Cady Stanton's arms.
They were perfectly drooped and calling out to me.
I still take photographs of the statues and most likely always will.

I am 67. I went to public schools in Arizona and Minnesota. I don't remember hearing anything there about women's rights to vote nor other rights. I didn't go to college until the 1976-83. That was a the Univ. of Utah. I learned more there, by looking for classes by and about women, such as in history & sociology. I found much more in library books. This and ethnic rights and history are major interests of mine. Thank you for sharing relevant photos.
