12th December 2005 - the only photo

This fabulous sight hit me in the face as I walked out of our front door on my trip to the station to come ‘up country’ for my last time this year (hurrah). You can’t beat our weather for making you feel ‘glad all over’. Seeing this sight each day still feels like a huge privilege.

I grabbed my camera and snapped while David was starting up the car. It was the only photo I’ve taken all day because it’s been a whirlwind of meetings and then footie.

My day has been spent ‘trudging’ around swanky restaurants looking for one with enough ‘wow’ factor to make moving away from the Ivy for our awards dinner a possibility. I must say, I think we’ve found our spot and I was terribly cynical that it could be done when we started!

Then on to footie – it was a bit of a shock to find ourselves 0-1 down after 20 minutes or so. Mind you, we pulled it round and ended up winning 3-1 which was more the sort of scoreline we’d had in mind at the outset. It wasn’t a great game by any means but we did at least win and the points are precious.

The trains were up the chute on the way home so we ended up on a red bus touring the streets of North London for what seemed like a lifetime. Our journey from WHL to WHL Sarah’s house ended up bus, tube then finally taxi. We got home very late and very tired. Sarah kindly put me up for the night so no horrid hotel this week.

It’s been a long day and now all I want to do is go home……..

Last year I was photographing weird stuff and the year before, coriander was my subject.
