5th November 2005 - pulling rabbits from hats

We’re both feeling like shit today – heavy, streaming cold - mine is a few hours ahead of DMs, my misery peaked at about midday and his is now…..

Despite this, we’ve been working hard today, partly out of necessity – some of our belongings are coming from storage next week and partly because we’re near completion of the bedroom that’s been plaguing us for weeks and giving us no peace.

The carpet is in, the wardrobes are here so today was ‘finish off’ day – curtains, drapes and dressing table. David did a sterling job on the dressing table, in difficult circumstances. 180 year old walls are cranky and don’t like being drilled.

Me? I love having a man who is both capable and willing to do this sort of job – until now, my Dad was the only man I’ve ever known who could, so muggins has done most of her own work. Today, DM did the job then I have painted it twice to fit in with the rest of the room…...alongside cleaning light fittings since the plastering and painting were finished, walking the dogs and a whole host of other stuff.

So, both of us have been working minor miracles and pulling rabbits out of hats to get stuff done.

I am hoping the containers we’ve got being delivered will contain my shoes – I’m sick of wearing sandals in this weather!

Two years ago, I had flitted from Roma to Barcelona and last year, we were popping down the road for a Ruby - that's a thing of the past - now it takes a minor feat of organisation to get to one.

Congrats on getting your house in order. I told DM that he needed to build a garage for the Lurker, good to know he's handy!

The reality of this photo is much better than what I tought I saw in the thumb. I was wondering why you'd take a photo of a slug with wrinkles on its head! LOL I really like this little rabbit guy.

I don't know if I could move. Too much stuff! A nice fire and a fresh start sound good. Joking, of course.
