Oh how I love toothbrushes at this stage – fresh, perfectly straight, bristles in neat lines, no toothpaste dribbles or bent bristles. Perfection as far as toothbrushes go.
I get through them like there is no tomorrow. They get bent and buckled almost from day one and by the end of a month, they are in a deeply unpleasant state. One thing is for sure – they have to be PINK for me. Yep, I am afflicted with the girlie desire for everything to be pink. I think it was because I was a deprived child and didn’t have a Barbie Doll so was unable to rid myself of the eight-year-old girl’s pink fetish at the proper age. Jan and I had Sindy Dolls rather than the now legendary Barbie.
DM has blue in the time-honoured tradition of girls and boys. Max Bygraves has a lot to answer for! ……Well, to be frank he just needs a simple device to make sure he recognises his own – the trauma of changing colours for him is a deep one that leaves him scarred for many weeks on end. Even with this sure-fire method of recognition, I still find he uses mine regularly whenever he has a mental block about it or when he can’t be bothered to find his own. He routinely seems to wander the house with it, abandoning it in various unsuitable places!!!
When I opened this one, I realised that the only time I’d photographed one before was when DM went to Le Mans last year and I was experimenting with starbursts and light to make a point about the sum of the parts being more than the whole.
So, I decided to do one and quite liked this angle of view though I’d have preferred a black or white background unavailable to me at the moment.
Last year, DM, Gary Kimberley and I were hogging the meta gallery by posting nude pics of ourselves in a Bill Brandt style and two years ago my little sis was bemoaning that I was pointing a camera at her when she wasn't made up!
