Still baking hot here and I’m still on fire even though the pace of my life today has been rather slow. It’s just too hot to do stuff so I waited until 6pm to go and tie in the tomatoes to their poles, pick the courgettes that will be our supper, stuffed with Quorn mince and sundried tomatoes. Yesterday’s left over potatoes will make a wonderful potato salad to go with them…….when I get around to making them.
I got up this morning filled with enthusiasm about loading my 26things and registering it but found the website hasn’t been updated yet so you can’t register yet. Pah!
I’ve been lying around thinking of another fiery shot and came up with this idea.
It’s the time of year that I love and hate in almost equal measure as it’s peak summer when we can sit outside until midnight watching the bats fly round over our heads (love) but the heat of the sun in the middle of the day turns me to jelly (hate) – I think it must be good to be a lizard at this time of the year – at least they have a need for sun to warm their cold blood.
The garden is past its best (it’s definitely a spring garden) and the dry weather turns the poor soil to dust. The lawn is most definitely brown now and will stay that way until late autumn I expect, unless we have a wet August.
So anyway, I wanted to get a fiery shot with my Leo mane in full flame and here it is. I intend to use this pic in my songs gallery to illustrate ‘watch me catch fire’ by the Big Heat but I can’t find the lyrics anywhere so I’m going to have to work them out from the record if I can……now there’s an exciting job!!
