phew, what a scorcher!

.....as our best read newspaper, the Sun might say!

A very very simple pasta dish (homemade tagliatelle with a simple sauce of two red chillis, a big handful of basil and a couple of cloves of garlic, sauted in olive oil, a good squeeze of lemon and some parmesan sprinkled across the top) BUT the chillis were volcanic! In fact, they were so hot, my mouth is still on fire, even after this!

We both valiantly struggled through our bowls then ran for the kitchen to put out the fire - beer had just inflamed it so the melon was the only option.

Oh boy - never again will I trust one of those little sticky labels that say 'medium hot' on a pack! They looked so innocent too - big fat red things - ah well, it just goes to show that even things that look most innocuous can be absolutely lethal. Mind you, I can think of a few more things like that! Now where shall I start.....

Linda, this is fabulous. The angle, detail, color again, one feels they could just reach for a sample. Love the story......
