Cheswardine

This beautiful stone house has been our home for the last week. What a joy to be here. We rented it through Cornish Traditional Cottages and it's been a real find!

We agreed this morning that much of the pleasure of the holiday has been in the house itself. Spacious and charming, two feet thick walls, an Aga, a dishwasher, a wood burning stove in the lounge and room enough to swing two cats! Some of the cottages we've stayed in have barely been big enough to turn around in - last summer's cottage in St Mawes a classic example of that.

From now on, we're going to seek out this type of cottage, even though the week's rent would be enough for a month elsewhere and have a more spacious and luxurious cottage every time. Well worth the extra outlay.
