The Lurker has been out and about today – David has taken it to work because the sparkies have been in to fit the garage lights, hence the rain drop all over it. Now they’ve gone, he’s been able to put the car into the garage, using the electrically operated doors, into a brightly illuminated workspace. That’s the first of our three building projects now complete and the demolition of the kitchen is underway. We are “camping out” between the back of the new garage and the tiny original kitchen of the house while the extension is knocked down, the rebuilt with insulation, proper roof, walls and windows and probably best of all, no outdoor lavvie in the middle of it and no asbestos. What’s gone was once the coal cellar, the outdoor lavvie and a log store that had been enclosed in glass to make a room. It was strange and impractical.
