Age is whatever you think it is, you are as old as you think you are
It is not the end of joy that makes old age sad, but the end of hope, never give up!

(Time for my "youth" sleep! Goodnight everyone and sweet dreams :D)

The empty space to her left (our right) adds so much to this.

A look of virtually hopeless or just waiting for time to go by. Ai Li, I am moved and so touched by this image. Your vision for Life is true and full of humanity. Bravo.

So much tension in this composition-photo Ai Li.
I love her expression!

A touching capture, and stirring words to go with it!

She doesn't take much room anymore, she does not take much light anymore. She is waiting, without even looking at the outside world. So what makes her not give up? Probably her dreams, as her mind seems to be working hard.
You couldn't find a better framing than this - even the texture on the wall was with you. Excellent street photography!

Such a wonderful candid photo, Ai Li.. the peeking out the window gives me the feeling she is still interested in life - hers and other people's. Truly excellent.

Love the juxtaposition between the woman and the old and worn wall.
All those fantastic lines too. You captured it all.
And I agree, you are as old as you think. Never ever give up.

Wonderful capture. She is keeping tabs on everthing going on about her. v

A very interesting character study. She seems to be deep in contemplation, and as old as the walls that surround her. I wonder about the life she has led, what she has known and what she has forgotten.

The doorway is always a metaphor for passage -- she has passed through many doors in her time, and seems to be gathering strength for one final passage here. It is more than a nice portrait, Ai Li -- it is a metaphor for the nature of life itself.

Full of humanity! Thanks for this wonderful portrait of the old lady and thanks for your words! The only chance to live a long life is to get old! And yes - we will never give up!
