These shots were taken out of my high definition video tape that I shot of Hanalei Reef and surf in November 2008. I am taking these pictures and movies for a reef and marine research project I am doing for our non profit group Save Our Seas based in Kauai. Please check out our web at www.saveourseas.org. My goal as a surfer and marine biologist is to study and film the reef, marine life and surf every week to monitor changes due to rising sea levels and global warming. Much of the coral is dying off the reef and that can effect the quality of the surf. We need to monitor the reef, along with other north shore surf spots, on a regular basis if we want to save the quality of our surf and near shore fishing and scuba diving.
