These photos were taken at Hanalei Bay Kauai in January 2006. The photos were taken off my kayak and were very difficult to get!A half mile off shore with stong offshore winds blowing made it almost impossible to take photos! I was happy to get a few good ones. I was shooting with a dry Kikon digital camera that cannot get wet! It was hard to deal with the choppy water, blowing in cirles and trying to take a shot in the impact zone on a ten foot day! I am a marine biologist and a former pro surfer and I sell some of my shots to help pay for my shark and reef studies with the Save Our Seas Organization.
