There isn't a better UWA flare performer than the Canon 10-22. It's simply fantastic in this regard (not unlike the 17-40 L). The Tokina can't keep up with the Canon in flare resistance. [Why couldn't Canon design their 17-55 f2.8 EFS IS like their 10-22 EFS with regards to flare performance?]

I think f2.8 lens have more internal reflections. The diaphragm cannot cut it out.
