101 MIGRANTS

MACHIAS SEAL ISLAND, NEW BRUNSWICK, CANADA

Birds of a feather may flock together but migration produces some strange combinations.
Here, two day-active birds perch side-by-side, 65 feet above ground, in the pre-dawn hours of a foggy, late May morning.
The SPOTTED SANDPIPER is at home at the shoreline. The OVENBIRD is a creature of the forest floor.

Ralph, oven birds are heard a lot more than they are seen. Nice capture!

Nice of them to pose for you Ralph.
But they're probably wondering what YOU were doing 65 feet above the ground....
