Thanks for visiting my gallery and posting a kind comment. Really appreciate it. The particular photo you commented on is from the Olympic National Park in Olympia, Washington. The whole area is known for its beautiful rain forests and beaches with washed rotting logs that gives them a unique look all year round.

I would suggest you drive along the coast - either drive up north from Oregon to Washington or the other way round. Either way, you will love what you see. Excellent opportunity for photography.

And, yes, don't miss the Cannon Beach. It is probably one of the most famous tourist attraction of the area.

Dr Chen: You are a culturally rich artist and rich, knowledgable pathologist (cf Larry Wang's comments of 20-FEB-2006). Your portfolio is exciting and innovative. I am loking forward to further exposure to your works. Did I see Mishima Yukio's poetry in the colections?

Thanks for your visit today with Lulu. We will speak tomorrow.

All best personal good wishes to you and family from Dr O, of the humble pathologist's floating stone garden.

Hi LianSong Chen,

Thanks for looking at my gallery. You asked me about comments on the lens I used in my Model Gallery. The shots in that gallery is taken with the 70-200, 24-70 and canons 50mm. I guess it愀 the 24-70L lens you are wondering about for modeling shots...

Well, it愀 almost as sharp as the 70-200 (which you allready had), though I had to send it to canon for calibration cause it was back-focusing when I got it, and that was according to the serviceguy common on that lens, but it愀 no problem to fix it. The USM works quite sweet but it愀 not as fast as on the 70-200. There愀 no problem with moire, vinjetting or anything like that. Steped down to about 8 it愀 razorsharp. The blur at 2.8 is great and I almost never use another lens for my daily photography. It愀 great for traveling and the quality is superb. So would I buy it? Well, personly for modeling... thats not easy to say. I guess the 50mm is better for that because that lens has more contrast, or maby the 100mm macro from Tameron. But for a zoom I would probably buy the 24-70. If I had to get a new lens, I would probably go for the 16-35 for the 20D because the 24mm just isn愒 enough for interesting shots. If not, you could go for the 24-70 and the 5D - together with the 70-200 you got yourself a really amazing kit I think.

Hope my words is helpful for you...

Take care
/Anders

Sorry but I haven't looked at my messages for some time now and just noticed yours.
Thanks for your comments on my photos. You asked for my comments on yours. I love your work but noticed with the My family folder you should use a hair light somehow. Especially when you are shooting kids with darker hair. Try having someone hold a reflecter over their head to reflect the flash on their head when shooting. This will give you a studio look to your photos.
Good luck and keep shooting.

Dear Liansong,
Excellent jobs. I reviewed those weeks ago and thought, at that time, that the pictures in your galleries must be copied by you from somewhere. Surprise me they are your works. You should, in my opinion, become a professional photographer, instead of a "poor" pathologist. Really good job!!! Please make more excellent works for all us. Thanks!

Best wishes!
Larry

thanks for your mail and sorry for my late reply.
i start reading Mishima Yukio's articles 10 years ago and i was strongly impressed by his philosophy. 芥川龍之介(akutagawaryuu no suke)is also nice in explaining human life and egoism.

you can type chinese, japanese or even french in pbase if you have the software intalled in your PC.

it is the first time i receive feedbacks about my topic. Usually people only focus on photos. thanks for your mail again and i am glad to know there is someone who are impressed by Mishima Yukio too.
