This is a quick and dirty comparison of several Nikon lenses. All images were taken under identical conditions: Nikon D100, 50mm (for zoom lenses), manual exposure at f/8, 1/15 sec. The camera was mounted on a copy stand, and the ISO test target was lit with a 600W studio light bounced off an umbrella. All images are straight from the camera, so you can see variations in contrast and color balance. If and when I have time, I'll run another series of tests at different apertures.
