These are some rusty shelves that I sometimes use as a macro test target.
Equipment was (as I recall) a Pentax 50mm f1.4 SMC w/ M42-Canon EOS adapter w/ EMF chip.
I cropped the image a little, but barely touched the sharpening.

If you haven’t heard of this lens, it was considered one of the sharpest lenses ever tested by Modern Photography, which ran the most authoritative lens tests of the period, or so I’ve read. I think it scored 85 or 90 lpm in their tests, which was a very high score indeed in their testing regime. Among other interesting features, the optical glass in this version is made w/ enough radioactive Thorium to cause some yellowing of the optics over time. The optics must be periodically treated w/ a heavy dose of UV light to be cleared of this completely.

Anyway, aperture was unrecorded, but probably f4 or 5.6, hand-held at 1/250. Camera was a borrowed Canon T2i which I was testing.
