Details: Thanks image was shot through a window on the 34th or 35th floor of the Aeon Building in downtown Los Angeles, w/ a Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4.5 DC Macro (Mk 1), at 17mm, wide open.
I corrected it manually in PS Camera Raw, as there was no profile available for this lens, at least not at that time.
Also, as you can see in the before and after examples, I corrected it not only for linear distortion, but also for perspective, at I was not able to stand in the proper spot to get everything symmetrical when I took the shot, at least not without being Superman. Just to make things interesting, shooting thorough the glass also added some distortion, as I recall.
It’s still not quite perfect, but I was amazed at the capabilities of the new (at the time) PS correction tools, and what they could do w/ a scene like this, and w/ relatively little fiddling.
