I was invited to photograph this 800 year old monastery due to my relationship with the Serbian community in my home town and the good will that's come from it that's made it to the old country.

Usually, there's no photos allowed here since most tourists simply gawk. I treat my access as a blessing and a privilege.

The narthex was dark and the nuns were in black, thus it was time to crank up the ISO, probably 3200 or 6400 for this photo to allow hand-held with a better aperture for the lens. Of course, the door was open and sunlight streamed into the room, lighting up the carpet.

However, by carefully crafting the image in ACR, I pulled out texture in the habits, the illusion of texture in the carpet and killed the noise somewhat to smooth out the image.

Haven't a clue how many stops other than a lot between the dark corners and the sun-lit carpet.
