Wintertime in Florida swamps.....

In January and early February 2007, I traveled over ten miles by foot and kayak
through the Choctawhatchee and Apalachicola river basins in the Florida panhandle.
The defoliated trees and shrubs provided an excellent opportunity to
observe the beautiful flora and fauna of these remarkable habitats.
My impressions of these remote and fascinating areas follow.
