The Tennessee Passion Flower brought me to your amazing gallery of flowers...FAV
It took me a long time, but I finally got around to oil painting a TN image with the Passion Flower, as the State Wildflower,...an Raccoon, TN state wild animal, and it is holding a pearl within a shell, also state gem....I usually paint symbolism, church parables, and Great Smoky Mountains, and love to paint wildlife also. Jeffee See Gourley Garden, here where I do most of my photography.

Beautiful photos! This has proven to be a wonderful resource for my foray into the study of wildflowers. One thing I noticed, the Orange flowers on page 1 marked Coreopsis look very much like Orange Cosmos, Cosmos sulphureus. Are they similar flowers or synonyms for the same flower? The Cosmos are a Central American native but we have some in SE Texas that have escaped from landscaping.

your unidentified flowers - 07-oct-2005 - it is a shrub - St; Johns Wort - Hypericum 'hidcote" I found it by plugging the scientic name in google -I have an almost identical flower as this, if you would like to see it - tell me how to email it to you.
your unidentified flower 2-aug-2004 - Purple Lossestrife - Lythrum salicaria Also found by plugging scientic name in google.

Very nice photos. The unidentified yellow flower with pointed petals, fourth from the end on page four, appears to be a fringed loosestrife (lysimachia ciliata).

The unidentified yellow wildflower on p. 4 (dated October 3 2005) seems to be Scotch Broom.

A lovely way to share these beauties. It is a pleasure to watch each 'unfold' into larger scale.
If you've not ID'ed the lily..try Zephr Lily, Atamasco Lily (Zephyranthes atamasco)
Native range: Virginia to north and central Florida and Missippi: zones 7-9.

I think that's a Red Buckeye(Aesculus pavia) in the background just leafing out and here in north Fl the Zepher lilies are beginning to 'flood' the banks of the Santa Fe River..for acres along our woodlands with Red Buckeyes scattered quite beautifully for another layer of colour.
