Ruby-throated Hummingbird

As pointed out by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the Ruby-throated Hummingbird (Archilochus colubri) is eastern North America's sole breeding hummingbird.
They are wonderful precision-flying birds and glitter like jewels in the sun.
They are easily attracted by feeders and flower gardens.
They typically arrive in central Alabama in late March and by October, they are on their way to Central America.
