Carolina Mantid




The Carolina Mantid (Stagmomantis carolina) is found in the Southern United States and is the official state insect of South Carolina.
This mantid varies greatly in color. Some are solid green while others are brownish tan or gray with or without dark spots.
The speckles on this species provides camouflage. Females are somewhat more heavy bodied than the males.
