I live in Spain, we get a good variety of insects, but this year we have noticed a few, what I call 'red bees'. They closely resemble the common honey bee, but the lighter stripes on the back are red as also are the wings, a transparent red. The red stripes are also segments rather than straddling the back of the insect.
I have never seen this 'bee' before, hence my request for identification from someone in the know.
