The Hotel Meade is in the ghost town of Bannack, Montana - a very well-preserved ghost town where most every building on the main street is in good condition and can still be explored safely. Bannack was the first territorial capital of Montana.
This two-story brick building was built in 1875 to be used as the first Beaverhead County Courthouse. After the county seat was moved elsewhere the building stood vacant until 1890 when it was remodeled and turned into a plush hotel.
The hotel is considered 'haunted' by many and voices were apparently recorded by Greg Burchfield in February 2005.
