One of the best galleries on pbase thus far.
you've got a 'good eye' there! I enjoyed your photos very much, esp the 'texture' gallery. Just curious...have you ever studied architecture or design?
Hi Dennis, I was randomly looking for blogs in Billings, and I added your photoblog because I like esp. your scenic photos.
-- Have a good one
Loverly images Dennis, I especially liked the shots of Porter. He looks quite young, how old is he?
We also have a weimaraner named Jazz, some shot of her and the rest of the brood can be seen here
Congratulations, Dennis - you are truly gifted. I so enjoyed seeing your images. Check the email on the web page - I wrote a note. Scott and I would love to see you again - so come on down anytime. You may become the first famous photographer I ever really knew. Be in touch. Norma P.
Hi -- Glad to find you again. I've been in classes all fall and couldn't find any recent photos on WG.... then I searched this gallery. Nice, nice, nice! Judy
I just want to congratulate you on your pictures. They are so full of life and color. Each picture made me want to be where it was taken. I wish I had a quarter of the talent that you have. Please tell me, do you sell prints? And if so, how can I get some?

Dennis, thank you for showing the beauty of the world around to help those who miss the uniqueness and glory that surrounds us each and every day. You are able to capture the peace and tranquility God has provided for all of us if we'll just take the time to stop, be quiet, and observe. Thank you!
Thnaks for posting the pictures of the Philipsburg area. I have a couple of clarifications for you: Photo of the mill - ore roasting works of the Bi-Metallic mill.
Photo looking at down to headframe - Granite Shaft. The ghost town is located in the Flint Creek Mtn range. Side note - Georgetown Lake was dammed in 1899 to provide electricity to the silver mills in Philipburg. Good Luck!!
I'm Gorshkov Andrey from Russia. I should like to thank You for Your shots. After viewing Your photos i had buy Coolpix 4200 camera. So You can ask a bonus from Nikon ;).
Thank You very much.
Wishing you a happy, prosperous and colorful year ahead. Hope you gonna come up with some wonderful pictures this year. I heard you lost ur CP4200,hope u will get a new one soon. I recently had been to my hometown and tried some macro shots of flowers, leaves and insects. Frankly you are my inspiration for trying those kinds of pics. Hope this set of pics (Nature Fresh) has come up well compared to my crocodile bank series. I was more on an exploration mood this time. Hope you would have a look at this gallery
. Kindly let me know ur feedback and technical advise. It would be great if you could let me know what setting I should use in " neat image" software to get the best results. if it custom setting, then just ignore this request.
I love your pictures! I am new to digital photography and was wondering... how do you make your pictures so sharp and well balanced overall? Could you recommend a program or a website so I could learn to make my pictures clearer in post-processing?
Thank you for your kind words. As you may expect to hear, both cameras have their positives and negatives. There were many things that I liked about my Coolpix 4200, its speed, its great ergonomics and menu system, the great in-camera red-eye-reduction, Best Shot Sequence and 5-shot burst modes, its size, etc. But all of the out-of-camera images required some post-processing, especially contrast adjustment and sharpening.
The out-of-camera images from the camera Canon S410 are smoother and cleaner and require less post-processing or even no post-processing. It isn't as speedy or ergonomic as the 4200 and has worse red-eye. But in the end, if I were to have to choose between the two, I would probably buy the S410 because of its cleaner and smoother out-of-camera images.
However, while I had the 4200 I was happy with it and would still be using it if I hadn't lost it. Hope this helps.
I've been looking your differents galleries and think it is good job.
In fact, I've really enjoyed your pictures and you make me be interested by the coolpix familly.
I saw that you are now using a canon S410 and I would like to have your point of view on cameras you used, especially which one do you prefere between the coolpix 4200 and the S410 ?
I hope you will continue to provide such great pictures.
Thank you for your kind comments. I live in Montana and all of the images on this site are mostly from places around the Helena area, but some were also taken around the Billings area. There is a lot of beauty in Montana to be photographed. I feel fortunate to have grown up here. Best wishes with your future plans.
Hi Dennis. Just stumbled on this site. I love your pics. Where do you live? That's the kind of area I am interested in relocating to. Like the couple that mentioned they lived in so calif I am also there and plan on leaving next year. Thanks for sharing your pics here.

We enjoyed your tour and what great pictures and picture taker. We are looking for a place to relocate, slow pace. We are on the California Coast, north of Malibu. Life is going to fast, just want to stop and enjoy.
Thanks again, enjoyed your photo tour.

Such nice galleries and i am the first to leave a message in your gb?!
Thanks for leaving a msg in my guestbook Dennis.
As to photo shop (you mentioned it in your posting), i am not using PS Elements but PS CS, the latest full professional version. It's beyond expectations. Actually, it's the one standard photo editing software for all professionals dealing with photos in any kind. It's not that hard to understand and it even provides the use of plugins. Now i can edit my pics with NeatImage inside PS, i do not have to switch programs! It's awesome!
But it's getting cotly... ;-)
