Florence 2009

Photos from our visit to Florence October 4th to 7th. We stayed at Hotel Casci on Via Cavour; a short walk from the Duomo. We visited the Duomo, the Uffizi Art Gallery, the Bargello Sculpture Museum and the Accademia during our 3 days in Florence but saw only a fraction of the many Renaissance treasures in the city. We sampled gelato at several places; Grom was the best!

Betty, Painting faces as individuals was one of the advancements of the Renaissance. Glad you enjoyed the photos.

Hi LD: I have just spent the last hour pouring over all the pictures. They are just
spectacular! I love the Dome pitures. It is so clear, and the many figures are really
individualistic when you look into the faces. I am going to go through them again as
