Hi Luis,
I'm very glad to see this picture and have found out that mary had some family, although I believe she died alone or accompanied only by her Cuban friend which, unfortunately, I don't remember her name. This house is right across from the house where I was born and grew up in Cuba. The correct address is Ave 49 #2827 e/ 28 y 34. I met Mary; we used to call her "Mary, la inglesa". I remember seen some memorabilia from the Rotary Club (I didn't know at that time)and some other things with the name of Arq. Luis Rojas engraved. On the left side of this picture is a passage way (pasillo)towards the backyard. Overthere, used to life an old woman that helped Mary in keeping the house. Mary was too old and almost blind, so; they decided (or were forced to; I don't know)to move to this woman's house in some country town outside Havana and I beleive she must have died there many years ago. I'm going to find out more details with my sisters and will keep you posted if you are interested. When she moved out she left her sewing machine to my mom. It had termites and my dad had to repair it, but I believe it is still in possession of one of my sisters living in Havana. After Mary left, the house was occupied by the FAR, Cuban Army to set up one of their trading offices. Most of Kohly houses are theirs. Two houses down the road, to the left, used to live the Roque family, and perhaps is still living there the infamous Lt Col Juan Pablo Roque, who made possible the shotdown of two Brothers to the Rescue airplanes in 1996. It is still not clear to me was your relationship with Mary, but I will continue reading here to find out more. I was refered to this site by Juan R. Pollo, one of the usual users at panoramio.com.

This was my neighborhood, I went to school up the street from here at what was the old Phillips School. I wish you posted more pictures of the area. Thank you.
