Kunya Ark's Walls and the Harem Tower
Kunya Ark is located within the old city Itchan Kala and is the original fortress around which Khiva developed. Dating from the 12th century, it was originally the rulers' residence and was expanded in the 18th century to include warehouses, a dungeon, harem, arsenal, mosque and facilities for military training as well as the incomplete Kalta-Minor Minaret. The harem also served as a lookout tower and offers views of the city
