Mariinsk
The town of Mariinsk was founded in the 18th century as the village Kiyskoye. In 1856, it was granted town status and renamed to Mariinsk after Empress Maria, consort of Alexander II of Russia, one year later.
Mariinsk stands at the intersection of the Kiya River and Trans-Siberian Railway.
