I alone, (Lisa) went to Washington state to visit my sister for a week. She lives in the countryside about 15 minutes from Shelton, which is on the Southwestern side of the Pugent Sound. My three reasons for visiting were: 1) to finally go see where she lives (she's lived in WA for 18 years and I've never visited her, even though she's come to visit me a half-dozen times in that same timeframe; 2) to see some of the Pacific Northwest, and 3) help her in any way I could to get her new business off the ground. As an added bonus, the timing worked out that on Mother's Day we drove stopped near Olympia so I could see our good friends from 28 years ago at their brand new home and then we went on to Beaverton, OR to attend a small family birthday BBQ for our cousin's daughter who turned 25 that day (Shelton - Beaverton was 2.5 hours each way). I hadn't seen that cousin (Mike) in roughly 29-30 years, so it was nice renewing my acquaintance with him & meeting his lovely daughter and son.
Of my 7-day trip, two were all-day travel days, and then the first 3 of my 5 full-days there had light-rainy weather. ;( A big THANK YOU to my sister, for all of her patience whenever we were in her car, for her stopping or slowing down with little notice, SO many times to allow me to take pictures. We don't have snow-capped mountains, lush green forests or anything like the Pugent Sound where we live in Central Texas, so I took LOTTTSSS of pictures of those landscape types. Also, everything was SO much more colorful there so again, LOTS of pictures of the brightly-colored bushes & trees because I LOVE nature!! I've deleted about a third of the total number of pictures I took. Lastly, I've arranged my sub-galleries by subject, so feel free to browse through just ones that interest you.
