Our first full day in VT we took a very long day-trip! We crossed the width of VT, NH and finally across Maine, heading to the coastal port of Portland. While there we took a 105-minute Trolley Tour, (that included stopping at Cape Elizabeth's famous light house), then afterwards we took a ferry ride over to Peaks Island, and hired a taxi (van) to give us a guided tour around that island. We finally reached our resort close to 1:00 a.m. but the 5-hr drive in each direction and all we saw along the way was well worth it!
