Picture_0268.JPGAn AWESOME sunset seen from our property, facing Northwest. The very different type cloud masses all coming together were unusual but breathtaking! We had a weird weather pattern - a few storms all about to merge over our general area.

Picture_0271.JPGA few moments later, and not using the zoom, enabling the viewer to see more of the darkness of the surrounding clouds. |

100_2825.jpgJust a couple of miles later and I couldn't resist stopping to get an updated photo - one showing the sky to appear as if it were on fire. |
100_4526.JPGSunrise from our front yard on an early Winter morning. |
100_4527.JPGFive minutes later during my commute - I HAD to stop and get a picture of THIS!!! |
 Picture_1494.JPGSame night, only a bit earlier. |
Picture_1549.JPGRecent sunset looking Northwest from our property. |
Picture_0181.JPGAnother GORGEOUS sunset looking towards the Northwest from our property. What a wonderful 4th of July evening it was!!! :)) |
Picture_0295.JPGA sunset looking away from the Little League fields during one of the boys' games, and what a beautiful sunset it was! |
100_0122.jpgAnother view looking across the back 1/2 acre. |
100_0114.jpgThis was shot looking straight West. The tree is actually along the back fenceline of our back 1/2 acre. it made a pretty focus point. |
100_0111.jpgThe start of a sunset, looking East. The yellow house/farm are across the highway from us. I was standing on our road that's on the southern end of our property that heads back to our back 1/2 acre & metal bldg off the U-shaped driveway entrance. The previous three photos were the same sunset, just a few minutes apart and looking North or West. I was amazed at how different the sky could look in different directions! |
025.jpgAnother sunset taken near the same place in Austin as the last photo, one week later though. |
Picture_0148.JPGOK, finally some SUNRISE photos!!! This one was taken while standing on our front porch as I was leaving for work. It's a shot looking across the highway towards the farm, hence the silos. |
Picture_1048.JPGA different day. This morning I was in my van but had only driven as far as the front of my house before having to stop and snap a photo. |
IM000070.jpgAnother morning, another beautiful sunrise as I was headed out the drive to start my commute. |
IM000071.jpgSame morning, 2 miles away from the house, as the sky was getting even lighter. Unfortunately, I took this one thru the windshield, not realizing until I'd downloaded it to the computer that the glare interferreed. |
IM000072.jpgSame morning, another mile further. It was hard to concentrate on driving and NOT keep looking over to watch as the sunrise kept changing. |
Picture_1045.JPGA different day but I (finally) captured a sunrise looking thru headstones of a small country cemetary. I've enjoyed seeing sunrises looking through it before but never stopped (till today). I had to get off the main road and drive on the cemetary roads before stopping was safe. My normal view from my county road is the same as this, only a football field's distance further away. The cemetary is on the edge of a hill, with far off vistas seen in the distance. |
Picture_0413.JPGI took a photo of this sunrise just after leaving our house and then enlarged/cropped it to get just the sun climbing above this particular cloud mass. To me, it looks like a Bald Eagle in flight, with the sun being it's head and the cloud being its body/wings spread out. |
Picture_0921.JPGThis is a small lake that is my favorite place to see sunrises from during my commute. However, this view is deceiving from the angle I generally see this lake at. The road I'm always on seems almost ground-level to the water. I took a smaller road that's elevated but without traffic so I could pull over and capture this sunrise. My normal road goes down a hill, curves, then back up a hill (with no place to pull over). This particular morning I couldn't pass up the sunrise over my lake so I took an off-shoot smaller road that's higher elevation and not on a curve, allowing a way to very briefly pull over and snap this photo. It's hard to see beauty like this and not believe that God is the greatest artist of all. |
Picture_0122.JPGI close-up of the same sunrise. I circled around to get to a different elevation of road. |
100_5713.JPGNot a sunrise or sunset but a heck of a rain shower that I drove right thru a few minutes after taking this photo. It went right over the 3-lane interstate I was on and all traffic slowed to 30-35 mph because visibility was down to barely any. 15 minutes later there was scattered blue skies and sun shine. |
House Update Photos 004.JPGA "Northerner" was about to blow through our area on Saturday. I took this from our front yard, and wanted to capture the unusual cloud formation. It wasn't until later when I looked back at the photo I took that I realized that most people seeing this will probably assume that my intent was to have the observer think all that grey stuff in the sky came out of the (smoke stack) which isn't one; it's a water tower. It just happened to look that way although it wasn't what I was actually after. |
100_2812.jpgAs I was reaching thru my car window to put outgoing mail in the drop box at the P.O. my eyes happen to catch this site and I couldn't resist snagging a photo of it. The next photo is the same sunset above the same building top, taken after I'd driven a feet further to get the tree out of view. |
100_6013.JPGThese next 5 pictures were of the same sunrise, taken every few minutes during my first morning at Tanglewood. I awoke in the dark and saw a "red glow" coming thru the sheer curtains, as though there was a fire outside. I kept going between the 2 balconies, as they face different directions. It was SOOOOOOO beautiful to see in person and couldn't have made a better start to my day!!! |
 100_6014.JPGJust a few minutes later. |
 100_6015.JPGAnd again a few minutes later... |
100_6016.JPGAnother view looking out towards the lake (the marina across the inlet is in the foreground). |

IMG_4861.JPGDriving along our country highway and seeing this double rainbow. What we noticed was that the color patterns between them are reversed. |
 IMG_4868.JPG |
IMG_4906.JPGTwo days after the previous (rainbow) photos were taken, a weird weather pattern came through Taylor. I shot these next two pictures from our front yard. Watching the storm cells all around but this had "white" sheets of rain and "dark grey" sheets of rain, side-by-side and intrigued me. We live north of Taylor and our property's rain gauge showed we got .85" of rain but friends who lived south & west got between 4 & 5" of rain from the same storm! |

Easter 2014 095.JPGThese next four pictures were obviously taken of the same massive cloud formation. I took the first two while Dave was driving, then the second two after we arrived at our destination. They were taken about a half hour prior to sunset, which is what caused the orange'ish glow towards the bottom. Each time, I took a picture showing the whole thing and then a second one, zooming in a bit. The news later that night mentioned that this cloud produced hail and heavy winds and rain about an hour from us later in the evening, although we never got a drop. It was SO awesome in power to look at though! |

June 28 2014 011.JPGThey say "everything is bigger in Texas" and some days the clouds sure seem to fit that description. As I walked from my office building to the adjacent parking garage I couldn't help but notice this MASSIVE cloud formation just up over the hilltop from us. |
June 28 2014 012.JPGThe same clouds shown in the previous photo only I was about to drive onto the road our office parking lot is off of. Surprisingly, I never had rain during my commute home. |
