This was a fabulous trail ultra right here in our backyard. There were several race distances...something for everybody: a 5k, 10k, 25k and 50k. David and I did the 50k. The trail was primarily single-track trail with some wide paths at the beginning of the course, 100% dirt trail, scattered rocks, a few very rocky sections, some roots, and a tad of asphalt, mostly just during a few road crossings. The course wound through thick pine forests set against basalt cliffs and ended with a tight twisty single-track next to the roaring Spokane River. The weather was perfect, starting with some gentle drizzle and about 40 degrees and ending with dry but overcast skies somewhere in the mid to high 50s.
