Hi Mrs. Sloan! This is Nick, just met you on the plane and wanted to say hi! Love the photos, I will have to figure out how many gulls are in my area.
Margaret, great photos. Are you the same Margaret Sloan that used to play volleyball at the "Y" years ago? If so, would love to catch up. You can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Margaret, Your bird photos are spectacular. Thank you for posting them for us to enjoy. I love, love, love your photographic eye! Christie

Super Fotos !!!
I am an amateur zoologist from Austria and I work on a list of all bird species (only for myself and personal use). I want to add to all the animals in the list a picture, so I want to ask you, if I am allowed, to copy some pictures from your picture gallery by pbase in my lists - only for private use! I will not create a homepage, I will not sell the photos and I will not publish the photos - I only want to add them to my lists.
I am looking forward to a permission to copy some photos,
Margaret, I just saw your gallery and you have some awesome stuff! good bird photography definitely gets my attention!
I also see you are a fellow Canon shooter, cool! I've been actively involved with the POTN forum, which is "focused on Canon users (photography-on-the.net).
Anyway, I just wanted to say "Hi, good work!" -- feel free to "drop in" and say "Hi"!
Hi Margaret: good to meet you while taking pictures of birds. wonderful bird photos
Ms. Sloan, you met my wife at the store and you gave her your card. We live in Lake Olympia. I have been looking at you pictures. They are wonderful. I have just started taking pictures and have a long way to go.
Margaret, great site and great photos. I am especially fond of birds on the wing, and you have some good ones. It was fun talking to you and Marilyn at Journeys Within. I hope the rest of your journey went as well as mine. Pass my regards to Marilyn, and keep up the good work!
Hi Margaret. Your sister in law, Marilyn, sent me your link. We share a love of photographing birds, but I have just a small percent of your images. I'm just overwhelmed. You are way way more advanced than me. I wanted you to know how much I enjoyed looking at them. I am especially amazed at your Hawaii birds. I've been to the Big Island probably 10 times and have seen very few of your birds -- only the most common ones (mynas, cardinals, golden finch, etc.). KUDOS TO YOU!!
What an incredible collection of Birds. I really enjoyed it and will return often. Such diversity. Thanks for sharing them. Sandi
Hi, Margaret. I really enjoyed being on the team yesterday at the Christmas Bird Count. Will be looking forward to the photos. I think I read that the count was 234? It will take me a while to go through all your wonderful pictures!

Talk to you soon,
Margaret, I met you this past weekend at the Bertagnole's ranch in East Canyon. You told me to look on your website for photos of the ranch. including the bus, but sadly I couldn't find one. Can you send me one? I would love to see other photos of this weekend as well. Please let me know when you post them. Thanks, Russell
Hi Margaret---Your pictures are spectacular. It was so worth it to get up early to watch the sage hens. Can't wait to see some of those pics. Might see you in PC this summer.
Hi Margaret, It was to see you a couple of weeks ago. I have enjoyed looking at your gallery. What a peaceful feeling came over me. You are so talented. I will keep in touch!
You've produced a rich and varied gallery. Thanks for finding your own backyard interesting as well.

Wow! Your slideshows on Vietnam are so well done. Is the librarian and the teacher in you still alive? I think so! I can't wait to view all of you slides. I am sharing these recent photos with a friend of mine who will be touring Cambodia and Vietnam very soon.
Where will your travels take you in 2010?
Margaret, you are much too modest about your photos - they are amazing! I don't know how you catch the birds so well. Your people shots are the kinds of photos I love to take. I can only hope that they begin to compare to yours. Well done!
nice to meet you & hope to see you on a dive trip sometime.
What fabulous photos! It was so nice to see them today -a cold, wet and gray day in Paris. It took me right back to our beautiful trip to warm, wet and gray Scotland. (Temperature makes all the difference in my book.) Thank you for sharing. I'll check your site from time to time to see where you have been. Have a wonderful holiday season!
Hope you are well. Thanks for all your pics, they are great. I especially like all the wildlife ones you caught, some great ones there, well done. By the way on the group pic with Jon at Edinburgh Train station, he's the only one looking glum-did he get a hard time from you all!! :) Its now winter here in Scotland with snow on the mountains. My fav season and my winter skills groups are booking well. Best wishes. Gary
Hello Is this the Margaret Sloan that worked at Willowridge? This is Cynthia Hassett(now Kasper in Sweeny, Tx).
Hello again Margaret. I met you at the BBSP this morning. I enjoyed talking to you and look forward to seeing at the BBSP again. Your pics are great. Have a great week and "TRY" to stay cool.
Wow, I'm really impressed with your bird pictures. I'm using a Canon 450 Si and I've recently borrowed a 400mm zoom and I note that your pictures seem to be with a 400mm Canon. Are you shooting handheld or with a tripod. You seem to be getting much closer than I get with my 300mm zoom. Great images.
Dear Margaret Sloan,
I am currently researching images of the swallow-tailed kite, Elanoides forficatus, for ARKive and hope that you are able to help as I have seen three of your images of this species that I would love to include. ARKive - www(dot)arkive(dot)org - aims to raise awareness of the need for biodiversity conservation by using wildlife imagery. Films, photographs and audio recordings of the world¡¦s animals, plants and fungi are being gathered into one centralised digital library. These important audio-visual records are being preserved and maintained for the benefit of future generations and are being made available to view via the ARKive website.
Please see a brief overview of ARKive below:
X It is ARKive's current aim to compile audio-visual records for the 16,000-plus species currently threatened with extinction, according to the World Conservation Union's (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species.
X We are looking for media (moving footage, still images and audio) to depict each species' life history as comprehensively as possible. In order for us to achieve this aim we need help from as wide a variety of media donors as possible.
X The ARKive website acts as a showcase for image providers, displaying copyright and contact details with every image and links to each media donor's own web activities.
See examples of species which have been ¡¥ARKived¡¦ at: www(dot)arkive(dot)org
Please let me know if you would like to include your images within the ARKive project.
With best wishes,
ARKive Media Researcher

Hi Golf Buddy! I just looked at a few of your photos. They're incredible. How do you sneak up on all those birds?? Don't know when I'll be yoga-ing of golfing. I had a "procedure" to hopefully avoid surgery on my neck so I'm laying low for a bit. MY interpretation of doctor's orders was not to lift anything heavier than a beer so of course I'm complying as frequently as possible. Good medicine..eh?? Hopefully, will see you soon! Kat
