Summertime Surprise - Rubrum Lily

This lily took its sweet time to bloom. The other lilies bloomed and faded a month ago. I went
outside to get the Sunday paper and was greeted by this large, colorfol bloom. I don't think it
blooms every year. Usually it is just a skinny green plant. Anybody know exactly what it is?
I'm really bad a plant identification.

**edit**
I think you are right, Coleen; it is a Rubrum Lily. From what I can find on the web, they are late
bloomers, and can take 2 - 4 years from seed to flower, which is about how long ago it was planted.
They are also toxic to cats, so I'll be sure to keep the kitties away from it.
