Octopus (Octopus vulgaris)

Mote Aquarium - Sarasota, Florida

The common octopus is found world-wide in tropival, subtropical and temperate waters. While it prefers the shallows of coastal waters, it can live down to a depth of 500 feet. It is usually solitary and territorial.
