Summary:
---Day 1----
Left around 4 p.m. Found a hotel with a heated indoor pool for only $55 a night via the Expedia app on my phone. The phone GPS gave a quicker ETA than the Garmin Nuvi, so we used the phone for navigation. It sent us mostly up 259 all the way up in Oklahoma near the border. Some of it in Oklahoma appeared to be scenic, but it was too dark. I took all 3 cameras & the palm camcorder, both laptops, and the tablet. I was anxious to jump in the pool immediately upon arrival, and did so.

-----Day 2------
Got up first as usual. Phone GPS gave restaurants in the area (the hotel's breakfast was inadequate), but I saw a Burger King 5 minutes by foot so I brought back food.
Wife had us check out a yard sale, I was anxious to check out the house for sale in Lavaca. The persons having the yard sale weren't home. Found the house in Lavaca after some mix-ups (my coordinates were a bit off), liked it quite a bit. It's SURROUNDED by pasture, the lot is flat, and it's at least 300 yards from the road and no houses close at all.
Checked out rural areas. Ate at Pizza Hut in Ozark. Tried to check out a couple of swimming holes from the book nearby, the 1st one (Wolf) we didn't quite get to as we noticed she was low on gas, we had to retreat & get gas. We then had time to go back, I found another one (Redding) that was a bit closer, so we went there, but it was still kind of dark for getting good photos, but I took what I could. Went back to the hotel. Saw a Hardee's while returning to the hotel, made a mental note of it.

----Day 3----
Time to go. Overheard someone saying, with regards to the hotel not having much of a breakfast, that they were eating breakfast at Hardee's. Took off for there immediately after enjoying the pool one last time. Went to a house for sale in Ruby. Wife liked it better than me--it was a full-blown house, the lot was 5 acres & the road was deserted, but most of the acreage was front-to-back; side-to-side there wasn't much, the land on one side was vacant, but for sale (although it had been for sale since 1995). The other side was a lot an out-of-towner owned & sometimes his friends used for target practice. If it stays as-is, it's as private--perhaps more so--vs the Lavaca place, on the other hand, if someone were to buy that land, then you'd have someone, an unknown quantity on top of that, immediately to your right. From there, went home & made a stop or two early in Oklahoma to check out scenery.

UPDATE: The Lavaca AR house was sold. Darn it.
