Acquired this lens for $60 2-20-2009 to have more reach for shots where the 18-55mm wasn't enough (as I had long the wonderful 18-200 VR which I now wouldn't mind having back).

Used to have this lens during my film-days with my N80, it was highly recommended in Popular Photography as being a good lens except for distortion at the 28mm end. The need for a longer lens (as I had now sold my 18-200 VR) became clear with photos taken of Helen the prior week, the shots were great but were SCREAMING for a lens with more reach. I couldn't find this lens when looking other than on eBay with an N65 film body for $85, the person had purchased it from an estate sale. I sold the N65 for $25 making it as if I had purchased this for $60. Not bad.
