Sawfly larva

Larose Forest. No idea what species this is, but I've seen this in various areas around the Ottawa area, including last September at the Cumberland Forest, when I took a photo almost identical to this (see previous).

They are very definitely beautifully patterned but the birch sawfly ruins our silver birch trees.
