Forked fungus beetle (Bolitotherus cornutus), female

Found on a bracket fungus (Ganoderma) in Rockcliffe Park. Both adults and larvae of these beetles live in the bracket fungus.

It always amazes me how everything in nature serves something else. Who would have thought there is a beetle that eats fungus? Great light and color. V.
