Red-headed ground beetle (Amphasia interstitialis)

I found this attractive, shiny ground beetle last year while walking along a wooded trail. I was not successful in finding which genus it belonged to, so eventually posted it on Bug Guide. Thanks to the good folk there, I found out it is the above species. According to Bug Guide, there are 60 species in 19 subgenera in North America.
