Leaf beetle (Cryptocephalus sp.)

This is a very small beetle in the Chrysomelid family (the leaf beetles). According to Bug Guide, the name comes from the two Greek words for hidden and head, and indeed the head is hidden on this beetle. It may be that this species is C. gibbicollis.

"Keep your head above water" does not apply in this instance. OK...works for Leaf Beetle.
