White-banded toothed carpet (Epirrhoe alternata) #7394

Larose Forest

Despite the name, this pretty Geometrid moth does not have anything to do with your carpets. The species is found in Eurasis (called Common Carpet in Europe) and throughout North America. Wingspan is approximately 25mm. In Europe, the larvae apparently feed on the Galium species (Bedstraws), and the same seems to be true here according to information in "Les Papillons du Quebec" by Louis Handfield.
